Morgen Parkin

Morgen fell hard for printmaking in her first year of Art School at North Island College and continued on with a Fine Arts Degree at Emily Carr University (then Emily Carr Institute of Art & Design) with a major in visual arts where she combined sculpture and print media. Born and raised in the Comox Valley, she returned to the valley after finishing her degree. Still in the busy era of parenting, work and life, she’s grateful to be a member of the Comox Valley Printmakers Association and to have the great privilege of using the excellent printing facilities at North Island College. She currently works mostly in screen printing at the moment, as well as fiber arts. Morgen’s most recent works explore the themes of comfort and protection by examining iconography of comfort and how we use armour in modern times.
