Kathryn Neun

Kathryn Neun was born in Toronto, Ontario. She studied music, attended York University (BFA Hon), Banff School of Fine Arts (Performance) and OCA (Intro Printmaking). Kath was an assistant curator/ librarian at Houston North Gallery, Lunenburg NS. Inuit prints and sculpture stimulated a new understanding of culture and environment. Kath was a member of Mahone Bay Printmaking Group, mentored by Ed Porter (etching, mezzotint, wood engraving) and later joined the Nova Scotia Printmakers Association. Kath occasionally prints in Malaspina Printmakers studio on Granville Island, Vancouver and is an active participant in qathet art centre and recently joined Comox Valley Printmaking Association. Foraging local resources and experimentation inspire a visual language compatible with observing nature. Kath instructs inksmithing, ink making, charcoal making and conceptual drawing workshops.
