Terri Stelfox has had a long journey in her art education to obtain her BFA from the external degree program with the Emily Carr University of Art and Design in 2015. Her initial course work in 1997 began at North Island College (obtaining her Fine Arts Diploma in 2006) with 4 moves, 3 provinces and 2 children filling the space between. In the gaps between her formal art education in Courtenay, she has taken several workshops at Red Deer College’s Summer Series, the Old School House in Qualicum Beach, The Paint Spot in Edmonton, and a printmaking workshop at the Dedalo studio in Italy to pursue her various artistic interests. Her main interest currently lies in printmaking. Experimentation and technical processes remain a large part of Terri’s artistic practice as her first degree is a BSc with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry. Transitions and interpreting the intangible remain constant themes in her work.
Terri is the studio assistant for the Introductory Printmaking and the 2nd year Silk Screen courses at North Island College, as well as an active member in the Comox Valley Printmakers Association.
